Thrips management in production nurseries (2025)

Last updated 7 Dec 2025, 04:41 am

Thrips are a persistent pest in Australian production nurseries across the horticultural landscape, causing damage to many plants, including many ornamental nursery crops, vegetable seedlings and potted colour. Effective management relies on an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach combining cultural, biological, and chemical strategies. This pest management plan provides information on thrips biology, identification and cryptic species, damage caused by the pest, virus transmission, monitoring and management.
